Monsoonal Rains again flooding the region 16/02/08

More heavy rains hit Townsville on the night of the 15/02/08 bringing more than

300mm of rain to the region.  Further south in Mackay,

the city experienced more than 600mm in 24hrs.  The Bohle River totally submerged

the Northbound lanes of the Bruce Hwy at Bohle for nearly 300 m. 

It was the highest I have ever seen it. Motorists also got themselves in trouble

when their cars washed away.
