Monsoonal Low Severe Weather 11/02/08

Heavy rain began on the 10th but then became more intense on the 11th.  This rain event was similar to the rainfall experienced mid January but the winds were stronger.  Wind gusts to 85 klms/hr were experienced in some areas.  Trees were blown over along with power poles falling over in Garbutt.  Power was also taken out in some suburbs.  TV and Radio stations were affected for an hour with total outage.
